Greetings! Thanks for stopping by the new site, and welcome to the my first foray into the blogging world! This spot is going to give me the opportunity to talk and communicate with you, the webpage browser and reader, on a casual and honest level.

Ok, so I got some picks I think you might like, but why should you listen to me?Because  I run an out-of-home advertising firm that has an exclusive network of 35,000 independent storefronts where we implement  targeted advertising, and utilize cutting edge new technology ranging from smart-phone integration to street level marketing. What does this mean? Well, you see, due to the nature of my business, I get the info about events and releases coming to a city near you, before they hit the mainstream media outlets. So essentially, I’m the inside guy with the inside scoop to great concerts, movies, theater, art shows, books, and more.

So here’s what else I’d like to do with this blog; I’d like to use my unique position in the scheme of things to bring you, the reader, a monthly selection of what I’d like to call “Dean’s Picks”. These will be an assortment of art openings, movies, concerts and other fantastic events that haven’t had their dates and openings “officially” released yet but that I think you’d like to know about. So without further ado, I present to you the first installment of “Dean’s Picks.”

Movie: Standing Ovation| Opens Nationwide July 16th

Looking to beat the heat and have some fun with your teens over the summer? When it gets too hot for even the beach or the pool, I’d say nothing beats cooling off at the movies. “Standing Ovation” is officially opening Nationwide July 16th, and is the sleeper hit of the season!  Two groups of young teens go head-to-head in a music-video competition to win $1,000,000 and have some fun along the way. Look forward to great songs and dance, and fun for the whole family.

Theater:Chess | The Signature Theater, Washington, DC August 10th – September 26th

The musical team of Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (Mamma Mia!)  and lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar) team up to bring you Chess, written by Richard Nelson and Directed by Eric Schaeffer. Chessrevolves around two of the worlds greatest chess players, one America and one Russian, at the tail-end of the Cold war. Beyond their competition to become the best player in the world is another competition for the love of the same woman. This Tony-nominated rock-musical is a must see this summer.

Music: Noesis | Look for window-posters in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles

Perfect for relaxing with friends over a cool drink after a long hot summer day. “Noesis” is the cool, smooth neo-jazz fusion album from Blue Six. Sizzling beats and smokey club-blends make this album a must-have for taking your evening bbq party to smooth new level.
