0Year WNDW Entered Detroit MI
WNDW has conducted OOH advertising campaigns in Detroit for the ACLU, Facebook & Aetna Health, among others. Facebook’s “Project Reinvent” campaign with a 10 market initiative, had one of the highest approval ratings of any WNDW OOH advertising campaign in our 30 year history, according to surveys of our small business independent management. Facebook’s “Support Small Business” message had one purpose in mind: to show the love for the small businesses that make up more than half of Facebook’s advertising revenue. WNDW’s WindowPoster™ Displays were the ideal vehicle in getting that message seen. A defining example of Hyper-Local OOH advertising executed on a national scale.
Detroit brought forth the Motown sound of the 1960s, artists such as Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes and The Temptations. Even aside from Motown, the seemingly endless list of Detroit musicians reads like a who’s who in music: John Lee Hooker, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Bob Seger, George Clinton, Anita Baker, Wilson Pickett, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Jack White, Kid Rock and Eminem.
Detroit is the 10th largest city in the country. It is the oldest major city west of the original colonies and the only city in the US that allows you to travel south into Canada. It began as a fur-trading town in the 1700s, then became a major shipping and manufacturing center in the 1800’s. During the two World Wars, Detroit was a leading supplier to the military. It is the birthplace of the automobile and the home of the Big 3: General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. One of the largest manufacturing cities in the country, Detroit is a leader in steel, fabricated-metal, chemicals, paper products, and food & beverages. The health industry is also among the city’s leading employers.
