Be sure to catch the first exhibition of Degas’s dancers in Washington DC in 25 years.  Degas was a passionate devotee of ballet, pursuing the subject for over 40 years through oils, pastels, drawing, prints and sculpture.  He created over 1500 works devoted to the anatomy, posture and movement of dancers.  This exhibit features almost 30 works of arts from some of the world’s greatest collections, including the Phillips permanent collection.
