Thievery Corporation latest album, Culture of Fear, is full of sounds that fans of the band will recognize. The familiar layers of reggae, triphop, bossa nova and throbbing bass lines mix and create a sort of “space rock” sound. The opening track “Web of Deception” instantly puts the lister in a relaxed state of mind, that carries throughout the entire album. The political message gently seeps through, rather than assault the listener.

Culture of Fear gives the listener an idea of what Thievery Corporation does best: spaced out atmosphere, grooving bass lines, a chilled out feel and a push towards political and global issues.
