Brandi Carlile and Mumford & Sons have built careers on their signature folk rock sound. Now, both artists are breaking out, with very different albums.
Mumford & Sons has been one of the leaders in their genre since 2009, when they released their debut album to rave reviews, and Grammy nominations. The latest release, ‘Wilder Mind’, will be a completely new look and sound for the band. Gone are the dusty vests and familiar acoustic strumming. Instead, fans will see leather jackets and hear more electric guitar. ‘Wilder Mind’ will be released on May 4th. Brandi Carlile has stayed closer to home with her latest studio album ‘The Firewatcher’s Daughter’, released last month. Carlile’s voice goes beyond genres, but at heart she has a rock and roll twang with country and western overtones. Reaching the top spot of Billboard’s Rock and Folk Album charts, ‘The Firewatcher’s Daughter’ is Carlile’s best seller to date.
